This was a session of firsts. When Jackie and I started talking about locations for their engagement session, she mentioned that she would love to take a few pictures at their new home. I love that Jackie and Matthew’s first engagement picture occurred at their new house. It is the sweetest house in a very quaint part of Bloomington, and when Jackie asked me to meet them there for a few pictures, I was secretly very excited for them. Not many people know that my family and I recently sold our “first home” and are getting ready to move to a new house in the Bloomington. While I’m very excited for this new chapter in our lives, I can’t help but look at our “old” house and see all of the “firsts.” This was the first home we bought together, moved into together, brought our first child home together… and well, as you can see, we’ve had a lot of firsts here. I think a lot of these firsts are the same that other couples share in their first homes. Capturing a few snaps of Jackie and Matthew outside their first home was really a sweet moment and my hope is that someday when it is time for them to move on to their next home, these images will bring smiles to their hearts. Along with their home, we also shared some time at their alma mater, Illinois Wesleyan University, a special place that holds so many of their firsts. Cheers to Jackie and Matthew as they prepare for their 2018 wedding! Can’t wait!
