Sarah + Trevor | Funks Grove, Illinois Engagement

It is no secret that I love the backlit images. You know, the kind where the sun is setting and “golden hour” emerges. I am the first to admit that I have been spoiled to countless sessions with gorgeous, warm sunlight, so this day was somewhat different. For the first time in a while, this session was filled with overcast skies. How could I have known that the cloudy blanket would lead to gorgeous, bold colors, and Sarah and Trevor’s personalities and love would warm up these photos in no time. I usually laugh at sessions with my couples, but this one was different. These two had me rolling! They are so sweet and funny, and I’m so excited to shoot their July wedding next year in Bloomington. Congratulations Sarah and Trevor!! Hope you enjoy this sneak peak;).

Weslie + Vance | Bloomington-Normal Engagement

My favorite season is fall. I love the colors, and like a true professional shopper (as my mom calls me, ha), I love the clothes:). There’s nothing like putting on a good pair of boots and a flannel and shooting an engagement session. I think these are some of the reasons why I love the way Weslie and Vance’s session turned out. The perfect weather and colors, combined with Weslie and Vance’s love made way for truly awesome images. Since most of the leaves have fallen and the trees are looking now sparse, I hope this session brings you some warm fall love before it gets too cold! Weslie and Vance, I can’t wait for your September 2017 wedding! Enjoy!

Katlynne + Alex | Champaign-Urbana Engagement

I first met Katlynne and Alex when we met for their engagement session and as you can tell, they are fun-loving and so sweet. I love working with couples like this because they make my job look easy;)! A little direction here and there, but mostly their love shinning through into gorgeous images. I’m so excited to get together again next July in Davenport, Iowa to shoot their wedding. From the details Katlynne gave, it is going to be a gorgeous day! Until then, here’s some of my favorites from their sweet engagement session.

Tony Wood

Awesome pics of a great couple. I’m so excited for what the future holds for these two. Love ya!

Beautiful pictures of two beautiful people!

Krystyl + Michael | Mistwood Golf Club Wedding

Krystyl and Michael found me through a mutual friend, and I am so glad they did! They’re September wedding turned out beautifully and I love all the elegant touches Krystyl added to their day! I started off the day with Krystyl, her three sisters, and mom at Salon 312 in Lemont, Illinois. As you can see from the pictures below, this salon is such a sweet little spot in downtown Lemont. I love all of the artsy touches the owner brought into the restored space! After the salon, we headed to Krystyl’s house to get ready. In the meantime, my awesome second shooter Stephanie was hanging out with the guys at the Bolingbrook Holiday Inn. The ceremony took place at St. Cyril Church in Lemont and from there, we moved to the reception at the newly finished Mistwood Golf Club. From the Harry Potter cake to the illuminated “QUAID” on the mantel, no details were left unfinished. The day ended with a gorgeous pink/red sunset and all the guests danced the night away! Congrats to Krystyl and Michael! Thank you for choosing me to photograph your fairytale day!

Emily + Angelo | Bloomington-Normal Wedding

Even though I am from Bloomington-Normal, I mostly shoot weddings outside of the area. When Emily asked me to shoot her and Angelo’s wedding, I was so excited to be staying close to home and capturing their gorgeous day at two of my favorite local spots, Illinois Wesleyan University and Epiphany Farms. Ever since I was an undergrad at Illinois Wesleyan, I have been in love with the small chapel located on campus. Not only is Evelyn Chapel’s architecture beautiful, but the inside of the chapel is mostly WHITE (aka a wedding photographer’s dream:)). It is small and quaint, just like the Illinois Wesleyan, and it truly reflected the beauty of Emily and Angelo’s love for each other that was founded on campus. In many ways, Epiphany Farms is much of the same. It is a locally owned restaurant that is founded on the principle of “Farm to Fork,” meaning the company strives to keep money in the local economy and use resources from the community. How cool is that??! So while I loved pretty much everything about this wedding, I am obsessed the fact that Emily and Angelo chose intimate places for guests to help them celebrate their new life together.

From working with Emily and Angelo on their engagement pictures, to scheduling their beautiful day together, I loved every minute of coordinating and photographing this wedding. Thank you so much, Emily and Angelo, for choosing me as your wedding photographer! Cheers to your new marriage and beautiful life together!
